What Is Listening Prayer?

Listening Prayer is learning to hear God's voice by: being still, tuning in the eyes of your heart to see Jesus, and recording the results. This Bible-based. Jesus-centered, prayer life will draw you into an intimate relationship with God - more refreshing than you've experienced previously, guaranteed!

Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know." (NIV)

*Sometimes, Christians tend to pray as though they are leaving a message on God's answering machine. Their faith is akin to hoping He will eventually check His messages. I left "messages" on God's "answering machine" until that pivotal day when I discovered how to listen. I've been teaching those "desiring to receive answers from God for themselves" ever since.*

We are to follow Jesus example in this life.  What better way than to get to know the man who created us.  The One who knows us better than we know ourselves.  Time spent just loving Him causes the sorrows of this world to dim.  Getting direction from the One who knows everything, helps us get victory in our world.

Recent Testimonies

Dear Lois:  We have a 9 year old boy in our children's ministry who had an extremely horrible early childhood.  He was adopted by a family from our church and made some progress, but his past came back to his mind and he had to go and stay at a local counseling facility to work through some things.

About 2 months ago, God said to me, "He needs to hear Me.  He needs the pictures of his past replaced with pictures from the book (Children Can You Hear Me).  He needs to see Me beside him today."When he gets frustrated, he tears apart books, so I scanned the pages of "Children Can You Hear Me?" and I began sending him one page every few days.

His Mom just called.  He was having a very bad day this week and he began to weep uncontrollably.  The staff told her that he was weeping so hard and so deep, they were afraid he was going to have to go to the hospital for oxygen.

In the midst of it all he said, "I've sinned against God and against all of you."

The staff told his Mom that he started talking in gibberish.  They kept asking him what he was saying and he finally replied, "I'm talking to God".  He was able to see God there with him and talk to Him!!

Please keep teaching the message from this book!  It is a gift to all of us and our children!

What a magnificent promise!  God wants to have heart-to-heart talks with you!  Job 33:14 says, "For God speaks..."  He wants to have a warm, loving relationship with you.  Imagine learning to talk intimately with the Lord as though you had been best friends for life!  Better yet, teaching your children and grandchildren to hear God's voice as well on a regular basis.

Jesus said in John 5:19, "I only do what the Father says and does."  Do you desire to follow the same Godly direction?  If so, through Listening Prayer (LP), learn how to prepare yourself to listen to the Lord.  As you become aware of your Heavenly Father's voice, you'll begin to notice your own faith grow as well - and your ability to listen to Him will quickly become "second nature."
